This one day course is for designers with some computer experience, but no experience using CAD programs to design in 3d.
Using the open-source software program Blender 3d, you will learn how to create a 3d model of a shoe heel, while at the same time learning about the geometries and structure of a high heel.
You will learn to navigate the Blender 3d interface for basic mesh modeling, including working with vertices, edges and faces to create objects, and using subdivide and extrude functions to create solid 3d objects.
While learning blender, you will also learn the basics of shoe heel design, including the many styles of heels (Louis, Cuban, Wedge, etc.) and the parts and geometries that make up a standard heel--including: the heel seat dimensions, heel cup depth, grade, back pitch and height and spooling width.
You are welcome to bring your own laptop or use one of our workstations.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:00-900pm.
